JAKARTA: As night fell, runners gathered at the starting point of Astra Ultra 69, an ultramarathon covering 69 kilometers. Some participants warmed up, while others prepared mentally for the challenge ahead. The event, held from Saturday night (25/4) to Sunday morning (26/4), marked Astra’s 69th anniversary and was organized by Astra Runners to promote a healthy lifestyle.

“Astra Ultra 69 represents the 69-kilometer distance as a symbol and reflection of Astra’s journey, carried out with consistency and a spirit of togetherness. We present this activity as a space to strengthen unity and collaboration among Astra people through a challenging and meaningful experience,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

Before the race, all 69 Astra Ultra 69 participants, who were Astra Group employees, underwent heart health screenings supported by Heartology, Astra Group’s heart hospital. This ensured each participant was aware of their physical condition before the event.

In its implementation, participants were required to meet several criteria, one of which was having completed a full marathon within the past two years.

Astra Ultra 69 was organized in collaboration with several Astra Group companies, including Heartology, Hermina, Asuransi Astra, and Astra Life. Medical personnel, physiotherapists, and ambulances were stationed at key locations to ensure participant safety.

As part of the event series, Astra also held the Astra Sunday Run on Sunday (26/4), featuring a 6.9-kilometer distance accessible to participants of all ability levels. This activity complemented Astra Ultra 69 by offering a more inclusive approach to promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Through both activities, Astra emphasizes that a healthy lifestyle can be adopted gradually, according to individual capabilities, and maintained consistently.

Astra’s commitment to consistently promoting a healthy lifestyle aligns with its aspiration to Prosper Together with the Nation and supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Indonesia.
