Winners of the 2021 Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award Revealed

JAKARTA: After a long search period that began on September 6, 2021, Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award 2021 finally presented beautiful photos and inspiring writings submitted by the participants, successfully capturing moments and telling stories of “Smile Indonesia”, the theme for the 2021 Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award.

The 2021 Astra Photo Competition received a total of 6,145 photos from 2,768 participants registered in the general and journalist categories. Meanwhile, the 2021 Astra Journalism Award received 251 articles from a total of 826 participants in the two categories.

“Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award are annual events to honor photos and journalistic pieces in Indonesia. We hope the events can continue to inspire Indonesian people, journalists and bloggers passionate about photography and journalism to produce their best work,” said Astra’s Chief of Corporate Affairs, Riza Deliansyah.

Through the 13th Astra Photo Competition, participants were invited to capture proud, motivating and inspiring moments and positive activities of the people in this country that bring happiness.

Meanwhile, the 8th Astra Journalism Award invited participants to write inspirational stories of the national or provincial winners of Semangat Astra Terpadu Untuk (SATU) Indonesia Awards or the leading figures of Kampung Berseri Astra (KBA) and Desa Sejahtera Astra (DSA) in the 133 KBAs and 930 DSAs across 34 provinces in Indonesia.

All photos and articles were selected and curated by competent judges. For the 2021 Astra Photo Competition, the judges were Reno Esnir (Chairperson of the Indonesian Photojournalist Organization and ANTARA’s photojournalist), Maryssa Tunjung Sari (photojournalist) and Warhana Sumirta (General Manager HRGA and CSR of PT Bhumi Jati Power) from Astra Group.

While for the 2021 Astra Journalism Award, the judges were Chief Editor of CNBC Indonesia Wahyu Daniel, author Bernard Batubara and Chief of Corporate Secretary, Legal and Communications PT Astragraphia Tbk Melinda Pudjo from Astra Group.

After a series of judging processes, the jury selected 42 winners of Astra Photo Competition and 42 winners of Astra Journalism Award 2021 from journalist and general categories. The winners were announced today and received the following prizes:
First Prize : 4 All New CBR 150R ABS
Second Prize : 4 Honda ADV 150 CBS
Third Prize : 4 Vario 125 CBS
Consolation Prize : 24 FIMI X8 Mini
Favorite Prize : 60 Amazfit GTS Mini
