JAKARTA: The future of Indonesia lies in the hands of our young generation. Now in its twelfth year, Semangat Astra Terpadu Untuk (SATU) Indonesia Awards continues to present awards to young people who contribute positively to the society. After six months of screening and a rigorous selection process by the jury, 22 finalists will advance to the last stage.

“Astra continues to present the SATU Indonesia Awards to this country’s youth who work tirelessly for their communities because we believe many young people throughout Indonesia have been willing to sacrifice their interests to bring about positive change for other people. This year, we hope we can once again share inspirations from those young people who care about their communities, especially during this difficult time,” said Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra, Riza Deliansyah.

Those selected as finalists are young people and groups who continuously contribute to society in the fields of Health, Education, Environment, Entrepreneurship, and Technology. Like last year, there is a special category to appreciate selfless heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The finalists were chosen from a total of 13,148 applicants through a series of rigorous selection processes. The number of applicants for this year’s SATU Indonesia Awards increased by 31.01% compared to last year’s 10,036 applicants.

The 22 Finalists of the 12th SATU Indonesia Awards 2021 Revealed
Finalists of the health category:

1. Animal Health and Welfare Service Worker, Fahri Putranda from Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra.

2. Creating Smile and Giving New Hope for Children with a Cleft Lip, Rahmad Maulizar from Banda Aceh, Aceh.

Finalists of the education category:

3. Initiator of Cultural Conservation "Kampung Lali Gadget", A Gadget-Free Village, Achmad Irfandi from Sidoarjo, East Java.

4. Founder of "Rumah Belajar Garis Inspirasi" Rana Mese Village, Khamdan Muhaimin, from East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara.

Finalists of the environment category:

5. Initiator of Organic Waste Conversion System Program towards Food Security, Arky Gilang Wahab from Banyumas, Central Java.


6. Empowering Community through Sanitation, M. Agus Rahmatullah from East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

Finalists of the entrepreneurship category:

7. The Tempe Innovator, Benny Santoso from Badung, Bali.

8. Pioneer of "Es Gak Beres yang Sangat Beres", Yudi Efrinaldi from Asahan, North Sumatra.

Finalists of the technology category:

9. Empowering Fishermen with “Lobstech” through IOT-Based Technology Implementation, Hendra from Jember, East Java.

10. Creator of Healthy Diet Menu for Goat and Chicken Livestock, Visista Pratama Ashadi from Lahat, South Sumatra.

Finalists of the group category:

11. Education Warrior from Kei Islands, Gregor Gauden Jeujanan from Kei Islands, Maluku.

12. Initiator of Technology-Based Integrated Waste Management System, Siti Salamah from South Tangerang, Banten.

Ten finalists selected for the selfless heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic category are:

1. Fighting Against COVID-19, Acep Wiguna from Karawang, West Java.

2. IPF Quickresponse "Siaga COVID-19" Initiator, Ani Wahyu Rachmawati from Bandung, West Java.

3. Friend of People with Disabilities from Kupang, Elmi Sumarni Ismau from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.

4. Initiator of Language Education and Environmental Literacy from Pemuteran Village, Gede Andika from Buleleng, Bali.

5. Developer of Learning Assessment Application “Tanpa Sinyal, Tanpa Server", Maman Sulaeman from Pekalongan, Central Java.

6. COVID-19-Aware Stage Crew, Muhammad Zidny Kafa from Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

7. The Nurse from Muara Tembesi, Mutiana Effendi from Jambi, Jambi.

8. COVID-19 TASK FORCE Volunteer, Toni Risanto from North Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat.

9. Self-isolation Waste Educator, Tri Puji from East Jakarta, Jakarta Special Capital Region.

10. Urban Farmer with Advance Payment, Vania Febriyantie from Bandung, West Java.


The Indonesian public can show their support to one of the finalists as their favorite by casting votes online from October 4 to October 10, 2021, at http://www.satu-indonesia.com/SIA2021vote.

The finalist who receives the most votes is entitled to a cash prize of Rp10 million. Recipients of the 12th SATU Indonesia Awards 2021 at the national level will receive an activity grant of Rp60 million and development programs that can be merged with Astra’s sustainable social contribution programs such as Kampung Berseri Astra and Desa Sejahtera Astra. There will also be provincial-level recipients of the 12th SATU Indonesia Awards 2021.

The finalists above are applicants who successfully passed the jury selection. The jury panel consists of the following names:

2. Prof. Emil Salim (Lecturer at the Environmental Science Postgraduate Program, Universitas Indonesia),
3. Prof. Fasli Jalal (Rector of Universitas YARSI & Postgraduate Professor at Universitas Negeri Jakarta),
4. Ir. Tri Mumpuni (Founder of People-Centered Business and Economic Institute),
5. Onno W. Purbo Ph.D. (Information Technology Expert),
6. Arif Zulkifli (President Director of Tempo),
7. Dian Sastrowardoyo (Art Activist),
8. Billy Boen (Founder of Young On Top),
9. Boy Kelana Soebroto (Head of Corporate Communications Astra),
10. Diah Suran Febrianti (Head of Environment & Social Responsibility Astra).

Winners of the 12th SATU Indonesia Awards 2021 will be announced at the award ceremony on October 28, 2021, the anniversary of the Youth Pledge.

Astra partnered with other organizations from different fields such as Tempo, Antara, Kumparan, IDN Times, and Young On Top to find outstanding young people in the country.
