Independence Cycling of Astra-TNI-Polri

TANGERANG: Astra together with Indonesia National Soldier (TNI) and Police of the Republic of Indonesi (Polri) today (18/8) do Independence Cycling of Astra-TNI-Polri themed Paddling the Passion Uniting Inspiration at Astra Biz Centre Area, BSD Tangerang.


This cycling event is expected to promote healthy lifestyle and cycling as an activity that can be enjoyed and on-demand by the people at large.


With healthy lifestyle, participants can contribute positively to their working performances, which then encourage the making of good-quality human resources to reach a better Indonesia. This is also in line with the theme of the Republic of Indonesia’s 74 th Independence Day Celebration this year which coincides with Astra Cycling Team 5 th Anniversary Celebration.


This event is attended by President Director Astra Prijono Sugiarto, Director Astra Suparno Djasmin and Henry Tanoto, Commander of Military Region Command (Pangdam) TNI General Mayor Eko Margiyono, Chief of Metro Jaya Regional Police Task (Kapolda Metro Jaya) Irjen Gatot Eddy Pramono, and Astra Group executives.


“Independence Cycling of Astra-TNI-Polri is the first cycling activity held by Astra together with TNI and Polri in order to create good-quality human resources together for a better Indonesia fitting the theme of the Republic of Indonesia 74 th Independence Day Celebration,” said President Director Astra Prijono Sugiarto today.


Total participants in Independence Cycling of Astra-TNI-Polri reaches 6,500 cyclers, increasing 150% compared to last year’s participants of 2,600 people. This increase is for sure caused by the collaboration between Astra with TNI and Polri.


Participants consist of 3,000 cyclers from TNI and Polri, including 75 Bhayangkari Women. Then 3,000 cyclers are from Astra Group and 500 from cycling community.


6,500 of Rare Fruit Seeds


Besides cycling, in this event there is also a symbolic hand over of rare plants by Astra, TNI, and Polri representatives to Astra Green Village (KBA) representatives, also 6,500 of rare fruit plant seeds are given to KBA representative, Pranaraksa Centre and Science Institute (LIPI).


This is in accordance with Astra’s sustainable social contribution in environment pillar. Astra has three other pillars in sustainable social contribution, which are health, education and entrepreneurship.


The cycling event is divided into two routes. The first one is 19 km and 45 km. Both have the same location of starting and finish line which is at ABC BSD. The 19 km route includes ABC BSD, BSD Raya Utama Street - Boulevard II Lago Street - Jend Gatot Subroto Street - Blok F Street - Paramount Boulevard Street - Ir Sukarno Street - Boulevard II Lago Street - Bumi Foresta Street - The Breeze traffic light - BSD Raya Barat Street - Raya Serpong Lapan Street - BSD Raya Utama Street - finish at Astra Biz Centre, BSD.


The 45 km route goes through Astra Biz Centre - BSD Utama Street - Boulevard II Lago Street - Jend Gatot Subroto Street - Blok F Street - Paramount Boulevard Street - Ir Sukarno Street - Boulevard II Lago Street - Bumi Foresta Street - The Breeze traffic light - BSD Raya Barat Street - Raya Serpong Lapan Street - BSD Raya Utama Street - Boulevard Utara Street - to ICE - to the back area of ICE - to Branchsto Equestrian Park - BSD Raya Barat Street - to Greenwich Park - exit Jend Gatot Subroto Street - Blok F - Paramount Boulevard Street - Ir Sukarno Street Boulevard II Lago Street - Bumi Foresta Street - Nanyang crossroad - go straight to The Breeze crossroad - go right to Froggy - go right to ABC - finish at Astra Biz Centre, BSD.


This event is also livened up by Via Vallen, The Flash band, marching band and 20 skydivers from TNI Polri. Additionally, various interesting door prizes from Honda motorcycle, smartphone, bicycle to television are given for lucky participants.
