BANDUNG: Today (2/4) PT Astra International Tbk once again joins Indonesian National Armed Forces (Tentara Nasional Indonesia, TNI) in a military program, where Astra donates 2,500 packages of cheap basic sustenance to celebrate the 41st Indonesian National Armed Forces Staff and Command School (Sekolah Staf dan Komando Tentara Nasional Indonesia, Sesko TNI) Anniversary in 2015 at Komplek Sesko TNI, Bandung.

BANDUNG: Today (2/4) PT Astra International Tbk once again joins Indonesian National Armed Forces (Tentara Nasional Indonesia, TNI) in a military program, where Astra donates 2,500 packages of cheap basic sustenance to celebrate the 41^st Indonesian National Armed Forces Staff and Command School (Sekolah Staf dan Komando Tentara Nasional Indonesia, Sesko TNI) Anniversary in 2015 at Komplek Sesko TNI, Bandung.

A 50,000 rupiah per package aid, or a 50% discount, is hoped to help those in needs to buy the sustenance package, which originally priced at Rp. 100,000 per package.

Said package consists of 5kg of rice, 1kg of granulated sugar, a can of sweetened condensed milk, 156gr of coffee, a box of teabags and five instant noodles. Package distribution is held at Sesko Birthday Event location from 09.30-17.00 Western Indonesian Time.

Indonesian National Armed Forces Staff and Command School Commander, Lieutenant General Sonny Widjaja expresses his gratitude towards PT Astra International Tbk participation in donating sustenance packages during his welcoming speech. It is extremely beneficial for the community. Astra Head of Environment & Social Responsibility, Riza Deliansyah is present in the event.

Meanwhile, in the environment field, Astra continues to collaborate with the corresponding military district (Kodam Jaya) and Jakarta City Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) to conserve and protect Ciliwung River and its surroundings, through a “Clean, Beautiful, and Healthy Ciliwung” (Ciliwung Bersih, Indah, dan Sehat). Astra is planning to donate 50,000 sacks valued at Rp. 155 million to help clean the Ciliwung River throughout 2015 from Simatupang Bridge in South Jakarta to North Pluit Raya Bridge in North Jakarta.

Previously, Astra has participated in TNI 69^th anniversary through an event called “Gowes Bersama TNI Rakyat Sehat” (Healthy Citizens Bike With TNI), which grand prize was a car that was announced at Jakarta International Expo last September. During the occasion, Astra participates by donating its cars, which are one unit of Astra Toyota Agya and three units of Astra Daihatsu Ayla.

Generally speaking, Astra Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been performing since 1974. Astra Group CSR alongside nine of its foundations focused on four pillars, namely Education, Environment, Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Health.

In education field, Astra Group has given out scholarships to 159,245 recipients, development programs (in hardware, brainware, as well as software form), established 13,262 schools, training programs for 28,199 teachers and built 20 Rumah Pintar (Smart House) and its contents in nine provinces throughout Indonesia.

In environment field, Astra Group has planted 3,333,456 trees. In SMEs field, Astra has assisted 671 SMEs groups, trained 32,262 trainees, all are in addition to 8,646 Astra Dharma Bhakti Foundation (Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra, YDBA) assisted SMEs and 81 YDBA Independent SMEs.

In health field, Astra Health Car (Mobil Kesehatan Astra, Mokesa) has cared for 94,296 patients, assisted 915 integrated medical stations (Pos Layanan Terpadu, Posyandu), gathered 126,452 bags of bloods and developed seven Kampung Berseri (Beaming Village) in various provinces.

All CSR activities mentioned above are in accordance with Astra philosophy, which is, to be an Asset to the Nation.
