First Export of Leading Product of Astra Prosperous Village Indragiri Hilir Riau

BATAM: Astra Prosperous Village Indragiri Hilir, Riau, yesterday (12/10) held the event of First Export of Leading Product White Copra to India.

Presently, white copra production reaches 26 tons per month. This first export was marked with a memorandum-of-understanding signing between Astra Prosperous Village and Parshwanath Agri Resources from India with total cooperation contract of 15 copra containers or 390 tons.

On the same occasion, donation in the form of 20 greenhouses production development in 10 villages, warehouse development for white copra final processing place, tools and production facilities, also transportation facilities revitalization and production support for 10 Astra Prosperous Villages in Indragiri Hilir Regency were given symbolically.

The event was attended by General Director of Underdeveloped Regions Development of the Ministry of Village, Underdeveloped Regions Development, and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia Drs Samsul Widodo MA, Regent of Indragiri Hilir Muhammad Wardan, Deputy Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra Riza Deliansyah and Chief Coordinator of Astra Group for Batam Region Kamil Hasan.

Astra Prosperous Village program in these 10 villages has been ongoing since July 2019 until October 2019 with total number of 900 people involved. Since the village development, the people’s income has increased 16% to IDR 1.4 million per month from IDR 1.2 million per month.

This program succeeds in creating 50 new job opportunities with processed copra production increases to 26 tons per month. White copra is raw material to make pure coconut oil, briquettes, herbal soap, and many others.

Cooperation with Bekraf

Astra also signs a memorandum of understanding with Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) recently. The cooperation that will be realized is increasing the competitiveness of villages’ creative economy. The cooperation is expected to be a groundwork for Astra in developing 20 new Astra Prosperous Villages in Singkawang region, North Toraja, Belitung, as well as Wakatobi.

Astra’s passion in developing Astra Prosperous Village is in line with Astra’s aim to prosper with the nation.
