Family-Based School: Contextualizing Parenting & Keeping Children Healthy in the New Normal

JAKARTA: Astra today held a webinar on family-based education themed “Contextualizing Parenting & Keeping Children Healthy in the New Normal” in collaboration with other parties, among others the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Children Protection, the Executive Office of the President of Indonesia, and the Organization for the Solidarity to Advance Indonesia Ministerial Cabinet (OASE).

The virtual event celebrated National Children’s Day on July 23, 2020. The Indonesian Pediatric Society and the Association of Indonesian Early Childhood Education Teachers and Education Personnel (HIMPAUDI) also took part in the webinar.

Moeldoko, Chairpersons of the President’s Executive Office, and Erni Guntarti Tjahjo Kumolo and OASE, respectively, attended the webinar alongside around 1,000 participants from all corners of Indonesia, including Aceh, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Papua, and East Nusa Tenggara Timur.

“Children are the investment of a nation’s future. As the future generation, children determine the quality of a nation. With adequate nutrition and good education, our children will be able to realize their aspirations,” said Moeldoko in his opening remarks in the webinar.

Moeldoko added that the government has prepared a variety of health, environment, education, and protection instruments to create an enabling environment for growth for children. Multi-stakeholder collaboration is crucial in this environment – the government, private sector, parents, and the public play equally important roles.

“Astra is aware that the company’s growth also depends on the growth of society. Therefore, Astra has always been strongly committed to social empowerment through our sustainable social contribution programs,” said Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra Riza Deliansyah.

During the webinar, Astra encouraged all participants to partake in the efforts of realizing the golden Indonesia 2045, as a superior, advanced, and competitive nation.

As part of the National Children’s Day commemoration, Astra held a virtual coloring competition from July 6 to 15, 2020, participated by 450 children. The competition aimed to raise awareness on children’s health in the new normal era, encompassing clinical and mental health, parenting, and children’s character building.

Astra’s spirit in celebrating the National Children’s Day is aligned with the mission of prosper with the nation.
