
DUBAI: Indonesia government is currently preparing themselves to join the 2020 Dubai World Expo in United Arab Emirates (UAE) which will be begun on October 20th, 2020, until April 10th, 2021. As a part of the preparation, the placing of the first stone for Indonesia Pavilion is held today (9/9) in which Astra participates as one of the supporters of the exhibition, including becoming the main sponsor for Indonesia Pavilion.
Attending this event is Vice Chairman III of Coordinating Team of Indonesia Government’s Participation Preparation and Execution in 2020 Dubai World Expo as well as the Chief of Indonesia Agency for Creative Economy Triawan Munaf, Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Dody Edward, Executive Director of 2020 Dubai World Expo Najeen Mohammed Al-Ali, Indonesia Ambassador for UAE Husin Bagis, Indonesia Consul General in Dubai Ridwan Hassan, and Deputy Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra Riza Deliansyah.
Indonesia Pavilion will be located on a 1,869 m2 area from a total of 438-hectare exhibition area. This building is a three-story building with a total area of 2,500 m2 including night market area, theater, restaurant, and business lounge.
2020 Dubai World Expo, being the third biggest worldwide event after the World Cup and Olympic, has the theme of “Connecting Minds, Creating The Future”. 2020 Dubai World Expo which is the 34th World Expo, predicts 25 million visitors from all around the world. Currently, there are 192 participating countries recorded and 94 countries have already registered their official theme.
Indonesia’s participation in 2020 Dubai World Expo is its 5th time and for Astra, it is its 3rd time after supporting the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and 2015 Milan World Expo.
Astra hopes that through its support in 2020 Dubai World Expo, it can make Indonesia proud in the world’s eyes. This passion is in line with Astra’s aim to prosper with the nation.
