
JAKARTA, July 18th, 2019 - Following up the agreement signing of forming a joint venture between PT Astra International Tbk and GOJEK previously announced in March 2019, the joint venture company today launches a mobility solution for four-wheel vehicles with a brand GOFLEET.
Witnessed directly by Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, GOFLEET is launched on the opening of Indonesia’s largest automotive exhibition, 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), by President Director of GOFLEET Meliza M. Rusli and Director of GOFLEET Pandu Adi Laras, accompanied by President Director of Astra Prijono Sugiarto, as well as Founder and CEO of GOJEK Nadiem Makarim.
Presiden Director of Astra Prijono Sugiarto says, “GOFLEET is the tangible output of the strategic partnership between Astra and GOJEK that was initiated since our investment in GOJEK in February 2018. We fully support the effort of collaboration between automotive and technology in order to create an even larger impact on economy and social of Indonesian people. President Director of GOFLEET Meliza M. Rusli adds that GOFLEET’s presence at the end of the day will give benefit to driver partners and customers of door-to-door online transportation services in Indonesia. “The awareness of the importance of qualified customer service is improving, including in the door-to-door online transportation services industry, both from the service provider and user. By joining in GOFLEET, driver partners will be able to focus more on giving the excellent service for customers, while vehicle maintenance and repair will be handled by GOFLEET. They also have opportunities to earn more income from ad media installed on their vehicles.”
Number of population and room to grow for technology are wide open for various products and services, putting Indonesia as the main driver of digital economy growth in South-East Asia. At the moment, ride hailing industry penetration and online food delivery in Indonesia is estimated on only 2-3% of the population, while in Tiongkok it has reached 14%.
Gradually, GOFLEET is planned to start operating thousands units of vehicles used by driver partners in Jabodetabek area. All potential and existing driver partners of GO-CAR who are interested can start joining to use GOFLEET service by registering, fulfilling administrations, participating in operation system training and facility, and completing other requirements needed. After Jabodetabek area, the service is planned to be available in other cities in Indonesia.
