Astra Wins FinanceAsia Awards’ First Rank for Three Categories

JAKARTA: PT Astra International Tbk seized the first rank for three categories, namely Asia’s Best Managed Public Companies in Indonesia, Best Corporate Governance, and Most Committed to Paying Good Dividends according to FinanceAsia magazine.

According to the Hong Kong-based international magazine, Astra also won the third rank in the category of Best Investor Relations and the fourth rank for Best CEO attained by President Director of PT Astra International Tbk Prijono Sugiarto. The assessment was made based on the poll from investors and analysts across Asia.

FinanceAsia magazine has been running the annual event for 15 times since 2001. Astra International has secured the first rank in Best Managed Company category for 13 years, namely in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. For Best Corporate Governance category, Astra International obtained the top rank for 10 years, namely in 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015.

“We thank all stakeholders who have participated in the survey and supported Astra’s journey for 58 years,” said President Director Prijono Sugiarto. Besides Astra International, Asia’s Best Managed Public Company award was also won by some companies in Asia, including Fortune REIT from Hong Kong, Sercomm Corporation from Taiwan, China Telecom from China, Kasikornbank from Thailand, and Ayala Corporation from Philippines.

Until today, the Astra has 227,099 employees from 191 companies. Astra always gives the best contributions in every business field through six business lines, namely Automotive, Financial Services, Heavy Equipment and Mining, Agribusiness, Infrastructure, Logistics, and others, as well as Information Technology.”
