
JAKARTA: PT Astra International Tbk participated in the Indonesianisme Summit with “Winning Indonesian Industry” as the event theme held today (10/12) by Ikatan Alumni Institut Teknologi Bandung (IA ITB). This event becomes part of sequential events of Forum Sinergi Bangsa Pemenang (Nation Winner Synergy Forum) implemented since October 2016.
This event was attended by Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arcandra Tahar, and National Army Commander Gatot Nurmantyo.
Chief of Corporate Communications, Social Responsibility & Security PT Astra International Tbk, Pongki Pamungkas appreciated IA ITB for conducting this event with the main goal of binding synergy and formulating strategy to create Indonesia as a winning nation in technology, industry, manufacture, infrastructure, transportation, energy, digital, and creative energy.
According to Pongki, the event suited with business field run by Astra, and also Astra’s 2020 vision, being a pride of the nation.
Astra is one of several corporates offered a joint relationship by IA ITB because they think that Astra has given big contribution to Indonesia development progress. During Indonesianisme Summit, Astra performed many works made by children of the nation.
Astra Group Companies
Some of companies in Astra Group that participated in the event were:
1. PT Astratel Nusantara
A company supervises infrastructure segment, logistic, and other fields of Astra business. It has operated 226.8 km highways divided into Tangerang – Merak highways about 72.5 km; Jombang – Mojokerto 40.5 km still on progress while 14.7 km has already run; Semarang – Solo about 72.6 km; Kunciran – Serpong highways about 11.2 km, and Serpong – Balaraja about 30 km.
Besides highways, through PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (PALYJA) which was acquired since 2008, the company has served more than 3 millions customers in west area of Jakarta. Through the first port management company owned by Astra, PT Pelabuhan Banua Taka (Eastkal) has been inaugurated as bonded logistics center in Indonesia by President Joko Widodo.
2. PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (AOP)
The biggest automotive component company group in Indonesia which 37 subsidiaries for manufacture field and 5 subsidiaries for trading with distribution areas all over Indonesia and 30 countries around the world.
Through one of its subsidiaries, PT Valesto Indonesia – Cikarang Plant, AOP produces Wintor (Winteq Motor), fresh fruit bunches (Tandan Buah Segar/TBS) conveyance on gawangan area in oil palm plantation.
Since first produced in 2013 until now, Wintor has sold 1,114 units and has local content up to 86%. On January 2016, Wintor has been ordered by consumers outside Astra Group and exported to Malaysia.
Market potential for Wintor in Indonesia is estimated minimum of 36,000 units for oil palm plantation use. But, at the moment conveyance producers with similar type as Wintor mostly come from overseas, like Italy, Thailand, and China.
Velasto Indonesia has now got orders of Wintor from India, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, and Nigeria. The price of Wintor for conveying palm and compost with 500 kg capacity is Rp 100 million per unit.
3. PT United Tractors Tbk (UT)
PT United tractors Tbk (UT) during Indonesianisme Summit presented information about its field of business. One of them is dealing with the plan for entering energy sector by building power plant, maximize the main competency in the field of coal mining and transportation.
In President Joko Widodo government era, maritime sector consumes much attention. President dreams to make Indonesia as the world maritime center. Indonesia becomes the world gravitation center of geo-economics and geo-politics.
In maritime sector, UT through its subsidiaries, Patria Maritim Perkasa focuses on ship design and ship building activities. Patria Maritime Lines focuses on the activity of transporting energy by river and sea, and Patria Maritime Industry focuses on ship repair activity.
Those three subsidiaries on maritime business become pride of the nation because all the ship are designed, made, operated, and repaired by children of the nation.
The pride of the nation can be also seen from the international acknowledgement of maritime product made by the children of the nation, where in 2016, Patria Maritim Perkasa has got a big trust to build Sea Truck and SternLoader ST22 which belong to the government of Papua New Guinea.
Basically, in wherever Astra’s installation is, it should give benefit for the surrounding environment, as the first Catur Dharma philosophy say “to be the beneficial Asset to the Nation”. Since established in 1957, Astra always dedicates its work for Indonesia development progress.
