
It was an honor for Indonesia to host the 16th Asia Pacific Conference of German Business (APK), that is also the result of EKONID (German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce) partnership. The event was held in November 1-3, 2018, in Jakarta. On this occasion, Astra supports the APK conference.
One of the discussion sessions was filled by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia Sri Mulyani Indrawati with a theme of Connecting Asia & Europe: Belt and Road & Beyond. The event was also attended by the President Director of PT Astra International Tbk Prijono Sugiarto who is the Chairman of EKONID as well.
APK has been going for three decades and developed as a prestigious event in which companies and government leaders of Germany and Asia Pacific gather every two years. The 16th APK, themed Building a Smart Future, will focus on digitalization as the key element. APK will discuss current topics such as Industry 4.0, infrastructure in Asia, sustainable urbanization, and more. It is expected that new ideas and solutions would emerged from the discussion about the topics.
As the series of APK, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier together with the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia Airlangga Hartarto and Managing Director of EKONID Jan Rönnfeld visited PT Astra International Tbk office and Politeknik Manufaktur Astra. The visit of Minister Peter Altmaier and Minister Airlangga aims to witness Indonesian–Germany collaboration implementation through EKONID (German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce) in vocational study.
