
JAKARTA: Two events eagerly awaited by photography and writing enthusiasts in Indonesia, the 2020 Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award, are launched today (7/9) with the theme “The Spirit of Advancing Indonesia” for both the public and journalists.
Through the 2020 Astra Photo Competition, Astra is calling all photography enthusiasts to capture inspiring moments embodying the Spirit of Advancing Indonesia. They can be photos of activities that display the efforts of Indonesian people to support the progress of the nation and that also give inspiration to the community.
Meanwhile, through the 2020 Astra Journalism Award, Astra hopes that the inspirational stories of the winners of Semangat Astra Terpadu Untuk Indonesia (SATU Indonesia) Awards and the figures behind Kampung Berseri Astra across Indonesia will reach the wider community.
"It is our wish that the 2020 Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award can provide an opportunity for photographers and writers in Indonesia to show their work. We are looking forward to the most creative photos and articles. We hope that the quality and the number of submissions will continue to increase every year,” said Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra Riza Deliansyah.
Both competitions are held annually by Astra. This year marks the 12th year of the Astra Photography Competition and the 6th year of the Astra Journalism Award.
In the last four years, the Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award have attracted 34,421 and 3,182 participants, respectively, amassing 86,931 and 2,173 submissions.
