Astra Hands Over ICU & HCU Equipment to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital

JAKARTA: Today (30/4), Astra handed over medical equipment to be used in the intensive care unit (ICU) and high care unit (HCU) of Cipto Mangunkusumo General Central Hospital (RSCM) in Jakarta. The equipment is expected to help accelerate treatment for positive COVID-19 patients.

The hand over was part of Astra’s second phase donations to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. The assistance, worth a total of Rp30 billion, was handed in stages. Aside from RSCM, Astra also provided the same assistance to the Hospital of Infectious Tropical Diseases of Airlangga University Hospital in Surabaya. To date, Astra has provided first, second, and third phase donations totaling to Rp106 billion.

In RSCM, the symbolic hand over was received by the President Director of Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital Dr. Lies Dina Liastuti, SpJP(K), MARS. Indonesia’s Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto, representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, and Astra’s Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah witnessed the ceremony.

“Astra will always stay proactive in its support to the government, communities, and health workers as they work hard to stop COVID-19 transmission. Our gradual donation will benefit the services in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital Jakarta and accelerate the treatment of COVID-19 patients. We certainly hope that this pandemic will be over soon,” remarked President Director of Astra Prijono Sugiarto.

The medical equipment brought by Astra today included 20 ICU beds and 75 HCU beds, 128-slice MSCT Scanner, 1 mobile digital x-ray, 20 ventilators, 95 bed monitors, 105 infusion and syringe pumps, EKG machines and defibrillators, central monitors, mobile oxygen as well as other supporting equipment.

Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital Jakarta and Airlangga University Hospital in Surabaya are two of the government’s referral hospitals located in two of Indonesia’s largest cities with buildings that are underutilized.

The medical equipment handed over today is expected to expand medical capability in both hospitals when it comes to treating COVID-19 patients. Astra’s support to COVID-19 response efforts is in line with Astra’s continuing social contribution pillar and mission of prospering with the nation.
