Astra Group Supports the Acceleration of Vaccinations for Employees and the Community

JAKARTA: Astra Group is gradually rolling out COVID-19 vaccination programs for employees and the community as part of the synergy between the government and the private sector to increase coverage and accelerate the national vaccinations to achieve herd immunity.

Astra Group has started to vaccinate its employees through the Gotong Royong COVID-19 Vaccination program for Employees since May 18, 2021. The date marked the kick-off of the vaccination program for employees with the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo observing the event in person.

Astra Group provides vaccines to more than 130,000 employees and their family members across Indonesia in stages, following the availability of vaccines coordinated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin). Astra collaborates with Kimia Farma to assist with the implementation.

“Astra Group has been vaccinating its employees through the Gotong Royong Vaccination program and facilitating vaccinations for the community. This step represents Astra Group’s contribution to support the government to accelerate vaccinations to achieve herd immunity, which will aid the national economic recovery,” said President Director of Astra Djony Bunarto Tjondro.

All seven business segments of Astra Group have gradually implemented the Gotong Royong Vaccination program in various regions in Indonesia. Some of the companies including PT Astra International Tbk, PT Astra Honda Motor and its subsidiaries, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia, PT Astra Otoparts Tbk and its subsidiaries, PT Federal International Finance, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk, PT United Tractors Tbk, PT Pamapersada Nusantara, PT Acset Indonusa Tbk, PT Agincourt Resources, PT Astra Tol Nusantara and its subsidiaries, and PT Serasi Autoraya and its subsidiaries.

Vaccination Centers for the Community
In addition to the Gotong Royong Vaccination program, Astra Group also provides vaccination facilities and infrastructure by setting up Vaccination Centers for the community through the collaboration between Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra (YDBA) and Halodoc and Dana Pensiun Astra (DPA).

As many as 10,467 people have received their shots at YDBA COVID-19 Vaccination Center in Cakung, East Jakarta, and 7,404 people have been vaccinated at the DPA COVID-19 Vaccination Center set at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD in South Tangerang. The programs provide vaccinations for people aged 50 and over, teachers, and public servants.
