Astra Acquires Aviva’s Shares in Astra Life

JAKARTA: PT Astra International Tbk (Astra) through PT Sedaya Multi Investama (SMI) acquired 49.99% stake of PT Astra Aviva Life (Astra Life) from Aviva International Holdings Limited (Aviva) yesterday (17/11).

Following the acquisition, Astra now owns 99.99% of Astra Life’s shares, both directly and indirectly.

Director Astra Suparno Djasmin said, “Astra would like to thank Aviva for the good partnership over the past six years. This acquisition is a form of our trust in the life insurance industry, which has encouraging prospects in Indonesia.”

Astra Life is a life insurance company that offers a variety of products to meet the needs of Indonesian people, such as life insurance, health insurance, accident insurance, life insurance combined with investment component (unit link), and sharia life insurance; and corporate customers, such as employees health programs and pension fund.
