A Decade Astra Sparks the Spirit of The Best Young People to Inspire the Nation

JAKARTA: Ten years is not a short time for someone to pursue a hobby consistently, either in music, sports, or science. On top of that, there is another thing as important as consistency, it is about giving benefits for other people.

These two things keep inspiring PT Astra International Tbk in holding Semangat Astra Terpadu Untuk (SATU) Indonesia Awards which this year marks its 10 years or a decade old.

“Astra initiated SATU Indonesia Awards since we believe that the future of this nation is on the shoulders of the Indonesian young people. They are the driving forces of Indonesia to move forward. In a decade of SATU Indonesia Awards, we hope that this program inspires more the Indonesian young people, so that there are more of them who create positive changes for the nation’s progress,” said the President Director of PT Astra International Tbk Prijono Sugiarto.

In the kick-off of the 2019 SATU Indonesia Awards today (11/3), Astra held an inspirational talk show inviting Narman, a young man from Baduy Luar, who received the appreciation of the 2018 SATU Indonesia Awards for his contribution as “Pembuka Cakrawala Baduy” and an art activist Dian Sastrowardoyo as the guest judge of the 2019 SATU Indonesia Awards.

“I hope SATU Indonesia Awards can be an inspiration for other young people all over Indonesia to keep contributing positively for their surroundings and the nation,” said Narman.

“I believe that there are lots of Indonesian young people out there who have been working in silence and yet do not know about this appreciation. Hopefully, this year we will be able to find more of them,” Dian Sastrowardoyo added.

This awarding event of Indonesian young people who have contributed positively to their surroundings has been awarded to 245 young people, consisting of 53 national award receivers and 192 provincial award receivers. These young people are representatives in the areas of Health, Education, Environment, Entrepreneurship, and Technology, as well as Group category.

In addition to giving appreciation to each winner of IDR 60 million cash, Astra as well provides sustainable activity development.

Spirit of Collaboration

As a commitment that Astra truly looks for young people with excellent achievements who spread all over Indonesia, Astra collaborates with cross-field partners who have the spirit in line with Astra’s to move the Indonesian young people in bringing the nation forward.

Astra has cooperated with Tempo, Antara, and Ideafest. This year, Astra is ready to collaborate with Kumparan and Inspigo as well.

Hopefully, the resonance of SATU Indonesia Awards will reach even wider and deeper. The number of registrants of the 2018 SATU Indonesia Awards reached 5,961 registrants, soaring 84.3% from the previous year that gathered 3,234 registrants.

After the kick-off, Astra will organize socializations of the 2019 SATU Indonesia Awards in several areas in Indonesia.
