
JAKARTA: On the Second Youth Congress 92 years ago, young people proclaimed unity of homeland, nation, and language: Indonesia. It is also the young generation who will carry the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 on Indonesia’s100th year anniversary.
It is that contribution of young people who have always been the driver of change in determining the fate of the nation from 92 years ago to the next 25 years, which has made young people as the main focus of the Semangat Astra Terpadu Untuk (SATU) Indonesia Awards program since 2010.
In the spirit of Youth Pledge Day on October 2020, SATU Indonesia Awards initiated by Astra today (31/10) selected 11 treasured youths from all over the country as the recipients of the 11th SATU Indonesia Awards 2020.
"Astra hopes that many more of this nation’s treasured youths will emerge from SATU Indonesia Awards. They are the individuals who radiate the lights that inspire the society to work together and create a bright future for Indonesia," said Astra’s President Director Djony Bunarto Tjondro in his opening speech at the 11th SATU Indonesia Awards 2020 virtual ceremony.
The six recipients of the 11th SATU Indonesia Awards 2020 that are instrumental to advancing Indonesia through the five areas of Astra's sustainable social contribution, are:
1. Mariana Yunita Hendriyani Opat “Educator of Children's Sexual Health Rights” (Health – East Nusa Tenggara).
2. Eklin Amtor de Fertes “Creative Storyteller for Maluku Children” (Education – Maluku).
3. Rizki Hamdani “Originator of the Millennial Muslim Aggies Group” (Environment – East Java).
4. Elsa Maharani “Seamstress of Women’s Hope from Padang” (Entrepreneurship – West Sumatra).
5. I Gede Merta Yoga Pratama “Navigation-Based Fish Tracker” (Technology – Bali).
6. Muhammad Aria Yusuf “Technology-Based Farmer Assistant” (Technology – Special Capital District of Jakarta) for the group category.
Jury panel also selected 326 finalists for a special category, namely selfless fighters during the COVID-19 pandemic. The finalists in this special category are not only contributing to the health sector, but are also engaged in education, entrepreneurship, and technology.
Carrying the mission to fight against COVID-19 pandemic, the five winners of this special category were:
7. Arya Ananda Indrajaya Lukmana “COVID-19 Risk Detector Using the EndCorona Application” (Banten).
8. Galih Suci Pratama “Embracing Teachers to Advance the Quality of Learning” (Central Java).
9. Ika Dewi Maharani “The Frontline Fighters Against COVID-19” (East Java).
10. Revo Suladasha “Engaging Yogyakarta Culinary MSMEs” (Special District of Yogyakarta).
11. Zulrifan Noor “Empowering Local MSMEs through Zakat” (South Kalimantan).
Each recipient of the 11th SATU Indonesia Awards 2020 will receive a development funding of Rp60 million and development activities that can be merged with Astra's sustainable social contribution programs such as Kampung Berseri Astra and Desa Sejahtera Astra.
Tanon Tourism Village program initiated by Trisno, recipient of the 2015 SATU Indonesia Awards, was merged with Kampung Berseri Astra Tanon, Central Java.
Likewise, a program run by Anjani Sekar Arum, recipient of the 2017 SATU Indonesia Awards, was merged with Desa Sejahtera Astra Batu, Malang.
There’s also sorghum cultivation program to drive job creation initiated by Nur Rahmi Yanti, recipient of the 2017 SATU Indonesia Awards at provincial level, which was merged with Desa Sejahtera Astra Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara.
Recipients at Provincial Level
Apart from the eleven recipients of the SATU Indonesia Awards at the national level, there were also 81 award recipients at the provincial level, making up a total of 70 national level recipients and 327 provincial recipients so far.
I Gede Merta Yoga Pratama "Navigation-Based Fish Tracker" (Technology - Bali) was named Favorite Finalist and received an additional development funding of Rp10 million. He was chosen among 23 finalists through online voting on www.satu- Indonesia.com/sia2020vote from October 5 to October 11, 2020.
AstraTalk Motivational Talks
Astra presented AstraTalk, a four-segment motivational talks to conclude the 11th SATU Indonesia Awards 2020 ceremony. Each segment has a different theme that was based on the inspirational stories of all eleven winners. The talks were also attended by some of the judges from the jury panel:
The first segment, Selfless Fighters during the Pandemic, was attended by SATU Indonesia Awards’ judges: Prof. Emil Salim, Lecturer at the Environmental Science Postgraduate Program, Universitas Indonesia, and Riza Deliansyah, Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra.
The next segment, Environment and Entrepreneurship, was attended by SATU Indonesia Awards’ judges: Ir. Tri Mumpuni, the founder of People Centered Business and Economic Institute (IBEKA), and Billy Boen, the founder of Young On Top.
The third segment, Technology and Group, was attended by SATU Indonesia Awards’ judges: President Director of PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk Toriq Hadad and information technology expert Onno W. Purbo Ph.D.
The closing segment, Education and Health, was attended by Prof. Nila Moeloek, Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia; Prof. Fasli Jalal, Universitas YARSI’s Chancellor & Universitas Negeri Jakarta’s Professor; and artist Dian Sastrowardoyo.
Unlike previous years, the 11th SATU Indonesia Awards 2020 ceremony, including AstraTalk, was carried out virtually through SATU Indonesia YouTube channel. The registration, selection and judging processes were also carried out virtually.
As part of Astra's commitment to seek outstanding young people all over the country, Astra collaborated with cross-sector partners that share the same passion of encouraging Indonesia's young generation to advance the nation.
This year, Astra resumed its collaboration with Tempo, Antara, and Kumparan as partners in the selection process of the finalists. Astra also collaborated with Young On Top and IDN Times for the first time to attract more young people with positive contribution.
Rewarding young people for their positive contributions to the community is in line with Astra's mission to prosper with the nation.
