Winners of the 2025 Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award, Celebrating Works That Drive Positive Impact

JAKARTA: Astra announced the winners of the 2025 Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award on Tuesday, January 13, at Menara Astra, Jakarta. Guided by the theme "Uniting Efforts, Creating Impact," the event served as a hub for visual and written works documenting the dynamics, hope, and tangible impact within society.

The year 2025 marks a significant milestone as the Astra Photo Competition enters its 17th year and the Astra Journalism Award its 11th. Participant enthusiasm reached new heights with 20,444 photo entries (up from 16,112 in the previous year) and 3,381 written entries (up from 3,256 in 2024).

Following a rigorous curation and judging process, the panel selected 84 winners across the General and Journalist categories. Selected works were evaluated not only on technical merit but also on the strength of their message, perspective, and relevance in conveying sustainability and social impact.

Winners received the following prizes:

• ​3rd Place          : 4 Honda Genio CBS
• Runner-up     : 12 iPad A16
• Favorite           : 60 JBL Tune 720BT

The judging panel consisted of industry experts in media, photography, and communications, including Alfito Deannova Gintings (Editor-in-Chief of Detikcom), Danu Kusworo (Kompas Photographer), Fajar Kristiono (Founder of Visual Story Media, Academy & Community), Puty Karina Puar (Founder of Buibu Baca Buku), Rina Listiani (Senior Manager Public Relations at Astra Honda Motor), and Deddy Pradityo Opficon (Head of Corporate Communications at Astra Infra).

Astra collaborated with the Indonesian Photojournalist Association (PFI) and Ayofoto to support the promotion of the 2025 Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award. 

The award ceremony also featured an inspirational talk session with Fajar Kristiono and Puty Karina Puar, exploring how visual and written storytelling can build awareness and inspire change.

The 2025 Astra Photo Competition and Astra Journalism Award Event Series

Following the award ceremony, Astra launched the Astra Creative Bazaar in collaboration with Jadi Gini Belajar Bersama (JGBB). The event runs from January 13–15, 2025, at the Galeri Astra and is open to the public.

The bazaar features an exhibition of the winning works, alongside various public activities including: traditional herbal medicine (jamu) workshops; pottery sessions focusing on creative expression through colors and shapes; and talk shows featuring industry experts, creative entrepreneurs, and inspirational figures.

The event also showcases high-quality local products from Astra Foundation beneficiaries, Desa Sejahtera Astra villages, and SATU Indonesia Awards recipients with the JGBB community.
