PT Astra International Tbk Encourages Young People to Become Agents of Change Through the 17th SATU Indonesia Awards 2026 at the Young On Top National Conference

JAKARTA: PT Astra International Tbk continues to support emerging change initiators who deliver real solutions for their communities through the 17th Semangat Astra Terpadu Untuk Indonesia (SATU Indonesia) Awards 2026. Embracing the theme "Connected in Action," Astra invites initiators in health, education, the environment, entrepreneurship, and technology to expand the reach of their initiatives.

Astra brought this spirit to life by collaborating with the Young On Top National Conference (YOTNC) 2026 in an inspiration-sharing session held today (4/7). The session featured Environmental Content Creator Jerhemy Owen, 2017 SATU Indonesia Awards recipient and leader of Desa Sejahtera Astra Nyarai in West Sumatra, Ritno Kurniawan, and Astra Head of Brand Communications Yudha Prasetya. They discussed how genuine concern for real issues can lead to meaningful action through collaboration, consistency, and the courage to start.

"We believe there are still many young Indonesians who have started various initiatives and created real benefits for the people around them. Through the SATU Indonesia Awards, Astra seeks to identify these change initiators, recognize them, and help expand the impact they have built, so more communities can feel the benefits. The Young On Top National Conference is one of the spaces that connects us with a young generation that carries this spirit," said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

Ritno Kurniawan, a 2017 SATU Indonesia Awards recipient, exemplifies this spirit as the leader of Desa Sejahtera Astra Nyarai in West Sumatra. Motivated by concerns about the community's reliance on logging, he worked with local residents to develop the village's ecotourism potential. With Astra's support, over 100 community members, including 45 rafting guides, now manage the tourism area, creating new livelihoods and promoting environmental preservation.

"At first, we only wanted to show people that the forest could be protected while still providing a livelihood. We never imagined that a movement starting from this village would one day involve more than 100 people in managing tourism. Support through the SATU Indonesia Awards and our collaboration with Astra gave us the chance to keep developing this initiative so its benefits could reach even further," said Ritno Kurniawan.

Meanwhile, Jerhemy Owen emphasized the importance of young people having the courage to start with their immediate surroundings and remain consistent to ensure their initiatives deliver lasting benefits. The discussion encouraged participants to recognize that significant change begins with small, tangible steps.

By participating in the Young On Top National Conference 2026, the 17th SATU Indonesia Awards invites more young people who have made a positive impact in health, education, the environment, entrepreneurship, and technology to join the program and expand their initiatives.

Recipients of the 17th SATU Indonesia Awards 2026 will receive IDR 65 million in funding, mentoring, and the opportunity to collaborate with Desa Sejahtera Astra, enabling their initiatives to grow and benefit more communities.

Registration for the 17th SATU Indonesia Awards 2026 is open until 1 August 2026. Young Indonesians who have positively impacted their communities in health, education, the environment, entrepreneurship, or technology can register at astra.co.id.
