Nurani Astra Distributes Ambulance and Medical Equipment Assistance to Support Post-Disaster Community Recovery in Sumatra
JAKARTA: As part of post-disaster recovery efforts for communities affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, Astra, through Nurani Astra, today (12/3), handed over 156 units of medical equipment and 20 ambulances to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. This assistance continues Astra’s humanitarian support for disaster-affected communities in the Sumatra region. Astra expects this contribution to strengthen healthcare services and directly benefit communities across the three provinces.
At the Ambulance Handover Ceremony for Areas Affected by Hydrometeorological Disasters in Sumatra, held at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin witnessed the symbolic handover of ambulances and medical equipment from Astra Director Hamdhani Dzulkarnaen Salim to a hospital representative receiving the assistance. The event was also attended by the Minister of Home Affairs General of Police (Ret.) Prof. Drs. H. Muhammad Tito Karnavian and Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.
“The government appreciates Astra’s support in helping strengthen healthcare services for communities in disaster-affected areas. Collaborations like this are essential to ensure healthcare facilities in the regions can continue to provide fast and adequate services for the community, especially during the post-disaster recovery period,” said Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
“Through Nurani Astra, we strive to be present and contribute to communities currently undergoing post-disaster recovery. The distribution of ambulances and medical equipment is expected to strengthen healthcare services in affected areas, enabling communities to access medical assistance more quickly and effectively,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.
This continued support involved providing 20 ambulances with transport specifications for community health centers (Puskesmas) and distributing them across various affected regions. Astra distributed 16 ambulances to Puskesmas in Aceh, 1 ambulance to a regional general hospital (RSUD) in Aceh, and 1 ambulance each to a Puskesmas in Central Tapanuli, an RSUD in Medan City, and a Puskesmas in Padang Pariaman City.
Since December 2025, Astra has inspected and repaired 126 ambulances across affected areas. These efforts covered 4 locations in Aceh, 17 in North Sumatra, and 10 in West Sumatra. This work ensures healthcare services are ready for communities.
In addition, Astra, through Astra Otoparts, distributed 156 units of medical equipment to support improved healthcare services in affected areas. Of these, Astra delivered 122 units of equipment to eight regional hospitals (RSUD) in Aceh and sent the remaining 34 units to the Medan Center for Medical Device and Health Facility Safety (BPAFK).
Astra’s spirit in strengthening public healthcare services across various regions of Indonesia aligns with Astra’s aspiration to Prosper Together with the Nation and to support the achievement of Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
