Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Observes Construction of Livable Housing for Astra’s Beneficiaries in Banyumas

BANYUMAS, CENTRAL JAVA: Astra welcomed a visit from the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, to Tunjung Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, on Saturday (November 8). The visit aimed to directly observe the progress of Astra’s Livable Housing Program (Rumah Layak Huni – RLH), as well as to attend the symbolic handover ceremony of house keys to several program beneficiaries.

The visit was received by Astra’s Chief of Corporate Affairs, Boy Kelana Soebroto, who accompanied Minister Maruarar Sirait during the symbolic key handover to Astra’s RLH beneficiaries, Sakam Hendro Raharjo and Anwar Mualif. Banyumas Regent Sadewo Tri Lastiono was also present at the event.

“This visit marks an important moment to see firsthand the progress of the construction that began with the groundbreaking ceremony last August. Astra hopes that each house built will become a proper and comfortable home for families to grow and build a better future. We also invite all stakeholders to continue working together in supporting the Livable Housing Program so it can bring sustainable benefits to both the community and the environment,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

The groundbreaking ceremony for Astra’s Livable Housing Program took place on August 20, 2025, marking the start of construction for 250 free housing units across two Desa Sejahtera Astra areas, which are also locations for Astra’s carbon forest initiatives — 165 units in Banyumas, Central Java, and 85 units in Garut, West Java. This program represents Astra’s concrete commitment to contributing to Indonesia’s development across the nation.

In addition to providing physical infrastructure support, Astra also encourages active participation from local communities throughout the construction process. This approach not only strengthens the sense of ownership and community spirit but also fosters collective awareness to maintain a sustainable living environment.
