Indonesian President Joko Widodo Inaugurates the Construction of Astra Biz Center-IKN

NUSANTARA CAPITAL CITY: Astra is committed to supporting Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in becoming an inclusive, green, and sustainable capital city. This commitment is demonstrated through the construction of Astra Biz Center-IKN. Indonesian President Joko Widodo attended the project’s groundbreaking ceremony today, June 4, in IKN.

The construction of Astra Biz Center-IKN by Astra is in line with IKN’s Forest City concept, which emphasizes the balance between urban development and the preservation of nature and the environment.

“Astra Biz Center-IKN is Astra’s tangible manifestation to contribute to building and developing IKN as a sustainable forest city and a livable and loveable city in line with IKN’s vision. The Astra Biz Center-IKN that Astra will build is expected to increase Astra Group’s contribution towards advancing business centers and boosting local economic growth,” said Astra Director Rudy.

Built on a 3.4-hectare area, the Astra Biz Center-IKN is an integrated, one-stop service center for 11 Astra Group companies’ brands: Astra Motor, Auto2000, Astra Daihatsu, FIFGROUP, Asuransi Astra, ACC, TAF, United Tractors, ASTRA Infra, SERA, and Astra Property.

Astra Biz Center-IKN will prioritize meeting customer needs and providing convenience to the public for Astra’s four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicle mobility products and their supporting services.

Designed as a two-story green building, the Astra Biz Center-IKN will be equipped with natural lighting, environmentally friendly materials, and energy-saving equipment that considers sustainability and environmental aspects, maximizing a combination of greening efforts. Astra Biz Center-IKN also focuses on being pedestrian-oriented, prioritizing the comfort of pedestrians with a futuristic inclusive design, aligning with the concept of the city of the future.

Astra Biz Center-IKN will be the third Astra Biz Center in Indonesia. Two other Astra Biz Centers were built in Bandung, West Java, in 2011 and BSD, South Tangerang, Banten, in 2017.

Furthermore, in support of IKN’s development in education, Astra, through the Astra –Michael D. Ruslim Education Foundation, is also revitalizing State Elementary School 020Sepaku in North Penajam Paser Regency. This initiative is part of the development of publicfacilities and infrastructure, commercial areas, and infrastructure in IKN. Astra also fosters11 elementary schools and 2 vocational high schools in the IKN area with the hope ofimproving the quality of education to produce quality students.

In addition to Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the Astra Biz Center-IKN groundbreaking ceremony was also attended by several Advance Indonesia Cabinet Ministers, IKN Authority Leaders, East Kalimantan Acting Governor and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, IKN Consortium Representatives, Astra Director Rudy, and Astra Group Executives.

As part of the Nusantara Consortium, Astra is also involved in the construction of the Nusantara Botanical Garden by the Nusantara Consortium. The groundbreaking ceremony for this project was also held today.

Astra’s dedication to supporting the inclusive and sustainable development of Indonesia in IKN for today and the future of Indonesia is in line with Astra’s mission to Prosper with the Nation while supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
