JAKARTA: In an effort to enhance disaster preparedness across Indonesia, Astra collaborated with the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenko PMK) in the Indonesia Rescue Summit 2025: Private Sector Resilience Movement event series. The series began on October 15, 2025, and officially concluded today (November 27) with an appreciation ceremony for the participants of the rescue competition.

The rescue competition at the Indonesia Rescue Summit 2025 featured seven categories: Water Rescue, Vehicle Accident Rescue, Rescue Fitness Drill, Logistics Management, Emergency Medical Team, Emergency Tent Erection, and Fire Fighting.

The closing ceremony of the Indonesia Rescue Summit 2025 was attended by Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs; Air Marshal Mohammad Syafii, Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas); Andi Eviana, Deputy for Logistics and Equipment at the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB); Bayu Teja Muliawan, Expert Staff for Health Economy at the Ministry of Health; Abdul Muis, Expert Staff to the Minister for Social Accessibility at the Ministry of Social Affairs; Raziras Rahmadillah, Director of Toponymy and Regional Boundaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs; and Boy Kelana Soebroto, Chief of Corporate Affairs at Astra.

“The Indonesia Rescue Summit 2025 is a fascinating collaborative event because it can build awareness and promote the spirit of rescue for all of us. I hope this synergy between the government and the private sector is important and can attract the interest of the younger generation to pursue a humanitarian vision. Therefore, we thank Astra for the outstanding cooperation,” said Minister Pratikno.

“Astra understands that national resilience in disaster management is a long-term mandate achievable through collaboration. The implementation of the Indonesia Rescue Summit 2025 is a tangible manifestation of strategic collaboration between the government and the private sector in improving disaster preparedness and mitigating various risks, such as geological, hydrometeorological, social, and industrial risks. With a robust response system, cross-sectoral collaboration, and a shared spirit, these risks can be managed to protect the nation for today and the future of Indonesia,” stated Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

In its practical application of disaster response, Astra runs the Nurani Astra Berbagi untuk Negeri program, which provides assistance to communities and the environment and contributes to sustainable development. This aid is channeled directly to help affected communities and supports disaster management practices across three phases: pre-disaster, during the disaster, and post-disaster.

The Nurani Astra program has been officially appointed by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs as the lead for the business sector in national preparedness collaboration efforts in Indonesia.

Astra’s commitment to enhancing disaster preparedness aligns with its mission to Prosper with the Nation and supports the achievement of Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
