Astra Health Festival 2023: Be Healthy for Today and the Future of Indonesia

MATARAM: Astra held the 2023 Astra Health Festival themed “Be Healthy for Today and the Future of Indonesia” in Loang Baloq Park, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, today (11/18). This event, organized to commemorate National Health Day 2023 on November 12, is part of Astra’s sustainable social contributions in the field of health.

The festival aimed to raise public awareness and promote clean and healthy living to prevent noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) through activities including the Health Action Movement, Early Detection, and Physical Activities, which align with the Ministry of Health’s programs.

The event was attended by the Director of Health Promotion and Community Empowerment at the Ministry of Health dr. Elveida Sariwati, M.Epid, Mataram City Government and People’s Welfare Assistant Lalu Martawang, S.E., M.Si., and Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza
Deliansyah.

“We believe that health is the best investment in life. Astra hopes that through these activities, the spirit of collaboration in health programs will continue to grow, contributing to a healthier Indonesia,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah.

Various health actions involving the community were carried out, including the 10,000 Steps with Astra Movement, Aerobics, Poundfit, Inter-High School/Vocational School Basketball Competition and Inter-High School/Vocational School Youth Red Cross Competition, Free Health Checkups for Mothers, Toddlers, and Adolescents, and blood drives with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

Also part of the event was the launch of the Primary Service Integration (ILP) Program at the Bertais Auxiliary Health Center, involving seven integrated health services posts (posyandu) in Mataram. Apart from Mataram, Astra is also developing similar programs in Denpasar (Bali), Purwakarta (West Java), and Sijunjung (West Sumatra).

Health Program Background
As a company committed to the advancement of Indonesia, Astra consistently contributes to the nation through its sustainable social contribution programs that focus on four pillars: Health, Education, Environment, and Entrepreneurship, which are aligned with Indonesia’s
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In the health pillar, Astra initiated “Astra for A Healthy Indonesia” in 2011 with programs targeting the entire human life cycle, from birth to old age, throughout the country. Some of its flagship programs include ILP Program Support through the Revitalization of Auxiliary Health Centers (Mothers, Children, Adolescents, and the Elderly), Nutrition Intervention Programs, and Integrated Environmental Health Programs.

As of October 2023, Astra Group has 3,246 fostered posyandu across Indonesia with 10,955 health cadres and 215 Astra Health Youth Solidarity Action (AORTA) cadres. Astra has also developed 194 Kampung Berseri Astra and 1,060 Desa Sejahtera Astra, integrated areabased development programs that cover all four of Astra’s social contribution pillars. In the Integrated Environmental Health Program, Astra has assisted 22 Islamic boarding schools across Indonesia with 3,800 beneficiary students and conducted nutrition interventions in 35 villages across 16 districts in Indonesia.

Astra’s campaigns to raise public awareness about the importance of health for Indonesia's present and future are in line with Astra’s mission to Prosper with the Nation while supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals.
