North Sumatra: Astra sent off the export of 770 kilograms of andaliman, Desa Sejahtera Astra Samosir’s flagship product, worth Rp455 million to Germany and France during the Andaliman Export Kick-off event held in Garoga Village, Samosir, North Sumatra, on Wednesday, July 10. The event was attended by Samosir Regent Vandiko T. Gultom and Astra Environment Department Head Bondan Susilo.

“We are thankful to Astra for their collaboration in the development of Desa Sejahtera Astra Samosir, from field mapping and andaliman seed planting to exporting the spice to Europe. We hope that the quality of andaliman gains global recognition and that Samosir Regency becomes the largest producer of andaliman in Indonesia,” said Samosir Regent Vandiko T. Gultom.

“Desa Sejahtera Astra is a program that focuses on empowering entrepreneurship at the village level based on village potential and flagship products. Through this program, Astra aspires for the flagship products from these villages to become a source of national pride, continuously enhancing the value of national exports for today and the future of Indonesia,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah.

Since the commencement of training and assistance for Desa Sejahtera Astra Samosir, Astra has facilitated numerous benefits, including the creation of new job opportunities and successful exports of andaliman spice products, totaling 2.6 tons or equivalent to Rp1.53 billion, to three European countries: Sweden, Germany, and France.

As of 2024, Astra has developed 1,196 Desa Sejahtera Astra across Indonesia, of which 328 villages have contributed to a cumulative export valuation of Rp224 billion. These export activities are expected to boost the economy based on village flagship products focusing on Astra’s social contribution entrepreneurship pillar.

The Desa Sejahtera Astra program focuses on developing flagship products of Astra’s fostered villages through three product clusters: (1) Agriculture and processed agriculture, (2) Marine and fisheries, and (3) Tourism, crafts, and culture.

Astra consistently supports the improvement of village community welfare throughout Indonesia through the Desa Sejahtera Astra program, in line with Astra’s mission to prosper with the nation while supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
