OSAKA, JAPAN: In the historic World Expo 2025 Osaka, Astra reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development and the promotion of Indonesian culture through its contribution and active participation in the Indonesia Pavilion. Under the theme “Thriving in Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future”, the pavilion embodies Indonesia’s vision of becoming a united, sovereign, advanced, and sustainable nation.

Astra plays an integral role in various programs featured in the Indonesia Pavilion throughout the duration of the World Expo 2025. These programs include the National Day Indonesia, Business Forum, 1-on-1 Meeting, Rolling Exhibition, and Cultural Performance.

The National Day celebration at the Indonesia Pavilion on Tuesday, May 27, was attended by Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Deputy Minister for National Development Planning/Deputy Head of Bappenas Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, National Crafts Council (Dekranas) Chairperson Selvie Ananda, Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Heri Akhmadi, Astra Director Gita Tiffani Boer, and Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

“This expo is not just a historic milestone; it serves as a momentum to accelerate the green transition, foster the creative economy, and invest in the future we collectively aspire to. In this spirit of harmony, Indonesia sees World Expo 2025 Osaka as a platform for promoting international collaboration, guided by the principles of People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership. We welcome cooperation in clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, digital transformation, and tourism—key pillars in Indonesia’s green economic transformation toward Golden Indonesia 2045,” said Minister Pratikno.

“We take great pride in supporting and being part of the Indonesia Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka. Astra’s participation is expected to serve as a strategic opportunity to showcase Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage and innovation to the world, while also fostering interactions and exchanges between Indonesian representatives and pavilion visitors. Through this, we hope to enhance global understanding of Indonesia’s unique culture, traditions, and values,” stated Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

Astra’s active engagement in the World Expo 2025 Osaka is carried out through its foundations, the Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation, which focuses on the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and the Astra Michael D. Ruslim Education Foundation, which is dedicated to education. These foundations are two of nine foundations under Astra’s umbrella.

Products from Desa Sejahtera Astra villages and MSME initiatives by the Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation are also showcased, featuring handcrafted woven bags, wooden and leather crafts, djembe drums, tenun textiles, eco-printed batik, and coffee. Meanwhile, the Astra Michael D. Ruslim Education Foundation presents a Nusantara creative performance by teachers and students, including traditional musical collaborations, a young batik artisan community, and contemporary dance performances.

Astra’s involvement in World Expo 2025 Osaka continues its long-term commitment to supporting Indonesia’s participation in World Expos, having previously contributed to Expo 2010 Shanghai, Expo 2015 Milan, and Expo 2020 Dubai.

This commitment aligns with Astra’s mission to Prosper with the Nation while contributing to Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
