JAKARTA: What began as a trading company with just four employees 68 years ago, Astra has now expanded to seven business lines, encompassing 300 subsidiaries and over 1,800 installations from Aceh to Papua, supported by more than 190,000 employees. This growth has been made possible by the collaborative efforts of Astra’s personnel and stakeholders, striving to create a positive impact on Indonesia’s present and future.

Throughout its journey of growth with the Indonesian community, Astra has maintained a strong history and culture through the Catur Dharma philosophy, upheld by all Astra employees in every step of their activities.

“In this long journey, every challenge faced has served as a lesson and a stepping stone for continued growth and innovation as Astra strides forward,” said Astra President Director Djony Bunarto Tjondro in his speech at Astra’s 68th-anniversary celebration with Astra employees.

Marking its 68th year, Astra’s theme “Driving Progress Together for Today and the Future of Indonesia” underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive development alongside the community.

Astra’s 68th Anniversary celebration today (February 21) includes the Astra Awards 2025, which honors Astra Group companies demonstrating exceptional performance in the 3W Concept (Winning Concept, Winning System, and Winning Team) in 2024, along with the Service Tenure Awards for Astra employees who have reached milestones of 10, 20, 25, and 30 years of service.

This occasion also marks the introduction of the new identity for the Astra Foundation, reinforcing Astra’s commitment to sustainable social contributions. With its renewed spirit, the Foundation will continue to promote community welfare through empowerment programs focused on education, social community, and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the development of regional potential in rural areas. This new identity also reflects the aspirations of Astra’s founder, William Soeryadjaya, to provide tangible benefits to Indonesian society and prosper with the nation.

World Best Companies Asia Pacific 2025

Adding to the festivities, Astra has been recognized by TIME Magazine, in collaboration with Statista, as one of the best companies in the Asia Pacific region for 2025. This accolade is based on three main aspects: revenue growth, employee satisfaction surveys, and data on environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG or sustainability).

This recognition serves as motivation for Astra employees, who continue to be the driving force, enabling Astra to drive progress together for today and the future of Indonesia.

Astra’s commitment to positive contributions for Indonesia’s present and future aligns with Astra’s mission to Prosper with the Nation while supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
