JAKARTA: Astra Women participated in the 97th Mother’s Day Commemoration 2025 Community Outreach program organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection. The ceremony was held at Muara Angke Port, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (December 16). During the event, Astra Women distributed hundreds of essential food packages to the Muara Angke community as part of its ongoing commitment to the welfare of coastal women and families.

The assistance was symbolically handed over by Selvi Xu, Head of Communications for Astra Women, to the Muara Angke community, in the presence of the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi. This gesture signifies a cross-sector collaboration in strengthening the role of coastal women. The event was also attended by the Chairperson of Seruni, Tri Tito Karnavian, along with members of the Seruni Red and White Cabinet; Vice Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, Veronica Tan; Acting Deputy Mayor of North Jakarta, Fredy Setiawan; and Head of Administration and Finance for Astra Women, Trivena Nalsalita.

“The Mother’s Day Commemoration serves as a moment to appreciate the struggles of Indonesian women while encouraging their active involvement in national development. In line with Astra Women’s spirit to empower women through capacity building and economic independence, Astra hopes that this program can provide tangible benefits for coastal women to enhance their quality of life and their role within their families and communities,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs, Boy Kelana Soebroto.

Carrying the theme “Empowered and Productive Women, Towards Golden Indonesia 2045”, the community outreach program focuses on reinforcing the role of coastal women through improvements in health, capacity, and economic independence.

Astra Women participated in several activities, including an Inspirational Talk session, Marine Cuisine Training, and a dialogue with women green mussel shellers, all aimed at boosting productivity and increasing economic added value based on local potential.

The community outreach program runs from November 30 to December 22, 2025. In addition to social assistance, it also includes free health check-ups and capacity-building training for women working in coastal areas. These initiatives aim to improve the health and skills of women shellers to become more empowered, self-reliant, and economically sustainable.

Astra’s commitment to supporting diversity and inclusivity through the Astra Women community for today and the future of Indonesia aligns with Astra’s mission to prosper with the nation and supports Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
