Jakarta: Astra through its subsidiary, PT Astra Sehat Nusantara, has completed the acquisition of Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital. This investment is part of Astra's expansion in the healthcare sector.
Indonesia's large population, along with its growing economy, is driving demand for better and higher-quality healthcare services. Astra's investment in Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital reflects its confidence in the strong prospects of the healthcare sector in Indonesia.
Astra’s first entry into the healthcare sector was in 2021 through investment in Halodoc, a healthcare platform, and then Hermina Hospital in 2022. Following the completion of the acquisition of Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital with investment value of Rp643 billion, Astra's total investment in the healthcare services sector has reached US$275 million, or approximately Rp4.2 trillion.
In addition, Astra through Astra Otoparts has produced 24 types of medical devices under ‘GRIN’ brand.
“We hope that investment in the Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital, a specialized cardiac hospital, could contribute to the provision of quality healthcare services for the community, especially to enhance the quality of treatment for critical illnesses in Indonesia and play an integral role in the development of Astra’s healthcare ecosystem,” said Astra’s President Director Djony Bunarto Tjondro.
Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital (Heartology) is one of Indonesia’s largest private cardiac centers located in Jakarta. Through Heartology, more than 1,500 heart cases, including 1,000 interventions and 400 cases of heart arrhythmia have been treated.
Supported by experienced doctors as well as leading-edge facilities and equipment, Heartology is committed to providing innovative solutions. It aims to providing patient-centred cardio services in Indonesia through education, research, application of the latest technology, and teamwork of subspecialists.
We envision that Heartology will be one of the platforms to strengthen Astra’s presence in the Indonesian healthcare industry.
