JAKARTA: Astra and its Group companies, through Nurani Astra, provide another round of emergency response aid to support post‑disaster relief efforts for communities affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. This assistance is a continuation of the first phase of emergency relief that began in December 2025, with distribution being carried out gradually in early 2026.

Relief delivered in the first phase included 135.68 tons of rice; 10,000 liters of potable water; 5,477 cans of sardines; 7,881 liters of cooking oil; 1,263 cartons of instant noodles; 1,286 kg of granulated sugar; 1,895 cartons of tea; 2,560 personal hygiene and sanitation kits; and 992 cans of milk.

Assistance in the current phase comprises 600 shelter packages (each including an emergency tent, mattress pad, and blanket); 900 basic necessities packages; 600 personal hygiene and sanitation kits; mosque renovations; construction of five clean water installations and sanitation facilities; 750 school supply kits; 620 worship supply kits; and medical support services. All items were prepared based on assessed needs on the ground and will be distributed in phases according to local conditions and priority areas.

“By providing emergency tents, clean water, and sanitation facilities, ensuring ambulance readiness, and delivering other assistance in this phase, Astra hopes to help alleviate the suffering of affected communities during the early stages of recovery,” said Djony Bunarto Tjondro, President Director of Astra.

Nurani Astra is coordinating distribution in partnership with humanitarian organizations and government agencies. Aid is being delivered to disaster-hit areas, including Tamiang, Langsa, and Bireuen in Aceh; Central and South Tapanuli in North Sumatra; and Agam Regency in West Sumatra.

Post‑disaster response efforts are also being carried out through a phased collaboration between the Astra Group and the Indonesian Ministry of Health, which began on December 26, 2025, and focuses on inspection and repair of ambulances and local health office vehicles in affected areas.

To date, 126 ambulances across 4 locations in Aceh, 17 locations in North Sumatra, and 10 locations in West Sumatra have been inspected and repaired. The repair program involves support from AUTO2000, Astra Daihatsu, and Astra Isuzu to ensure the readiness of health service fleets for emergency response.

This support represents continued assistance and Astra’s commitment to remain actively present within the community through sustainable social contributions.

Astra will continue to monitor the situation and provide needed support in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, working closely with humanitarian partners and government agencies to ensure aid is delivered effectively and reaches more people in need.
