Astra Holds Flag Ceremony to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence

JAKARTA: In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence, Astra held a flag ceremony today (August 17) at Menara Astra, Jakarta. The ceremony was attended by the Board of Directors and employees, and also carried out by Astra Group companies across Indonesia.

“The 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia serves as a moment for Astra to reaffirm the spirit of unity, self-reliance, and tangible contribution for the nation’s prosperity. In line with this year’s national theme, Astra is committed to standing together with the people, being sovereign in its endeavors, and playing an active role in building a progressive and prosperous Indonesia,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

Aligned with the 80th Independence Day theme “United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia”, Astra remains dedicated to contributing through its four pillars of social contribution: Health, Education, Environment, and Entrepreneurship—reflected in a range of flagship programs consistently implemented. These initiatives are expected to deliver lasting positive impacts for both society and the nation.

As part of this year’s Independence Day festivities, Astra also launched a digital activation on Instagram @satu_indonesia titled “Indonesiaku, Kebanggaanku” (My Indonesia, My Pride), inviting the public to express their pride in Indonesia’s rich culture, natural heritage, and local wisdom—diverse yet united in the spirit of the 80th Independence Day.

Through this spirit of independence, Astra reaffirms its commitment to continue being present and actively contributing to the nation’s journey today and in the future, in line with its mission to Prosper with the Nation while supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
