JAKARTA: As part of the National Christmas 2025 program, which includes support for medical services and emergency response, PT Astra International Tbk donated 35 ambulances to strengthen regional healthcare delivery and improve access in underserved areas.
The fleet comprises 30 Daihatsu Luxio units and 5 Isuzu Traga Bus Euro 4 units, distributed to 11 locations across Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua. In line with efforts to reinforce health services in priority regions, nine ambulances were allocated to North Sumatra and West Sumatra. The vehicles are intended to support patient transport, emergency response, and local health service preparedness, as well as social and humanitarian service needs.
A selection of the donated ambulances was presented during the National Christmas 2025 event held on Monday evening, January 5. The ceremony was attended by President Prabowo Subianto and members of the Red and White Cabinet. Representatives from Astra present at the event included President Commissioner Prijono Sugiarto, Director Gita Tiffani Boer, and Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.
“The National Christmas 2025 program is designed to be modest yet impactful, delivering direct benefits to communities. Among 14 social assistance initiatives is the donation of 35 ambulances,” said Maruarar Sirait, Chair of the National Christmas 2025 Committee.
“Through the National Christmas 2025 event, Astra reaffirms its commitment to its social contribution programs focused on strengthening rural communities, particularly by supporting the development of regional health services. We hope these ambulances will facilitate patient transport and accelerate access to medical assistance in routine and emergency situations, and that healthcare personnel will be able to use them optimally in serving local communities. Going forward, Astra will continue to contribute to the welfare of the Indonesian people in line with our mission to Prosper with the Nation,” said Djony Bunarto Tjondro, President Director of Astra.
Each ambulance is equipped with medical and safety support equipment, including a patient monitor, a suction pump, emergency deluxe equipment, medical equipment cabinets, and an oxygen therapy system. Operational and safety features include a 1 kg ABC fire extinguisher, an LED lightbar and siren, an ambulance stretcher platform with storage for a scoop stretcher, an automatic loading stretcher, two sliding surgical lights, and a central oxygen BSS system.
In December 2025, Astra, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Astra Group companies AUTO2000, Astra Daihatsu, and Astra Isuzu, provided technical support by inspecting ambulances that serve hospitals and community health centers. This program was carried out at 15 locations in areas affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, and included repairs and parts replacement for dozens of ambulances to ensure operational readiness.
Astra’s commitment to strengthening regional health services aligns with the company’s mission to Prosper with the Nation and supports Indonesia’s progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
