Jakarta: Astra held a flag-raising ceremony at Menara Astra, Jakarta, today, August 17, in commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The event was attended by Astra Directors and Employees.

The flag-raising ceremony was also simultaneously conducted across all Astra Group companies in Indonesia.

“Astra celebrates Indonesia’s Independence Day every year by involving all Astra employees to strengthen their love for the nation. This aligns with the first principle of Astra’s Catur Dharma philosophy: to be an asset to the nation, one of which is through contributing positively for today and the future of Indonesia,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah.

The series of events for Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day kicked off in early August, starting with support for the Erwin Gutawa Orchestra concert Bangga Indonesia (Proud Indonesia). There were also various competitions held across Astra Group companies and other programs, including inviting the public to share their stories of pride as Indonesians on Instagram @satu_indonesia and a quiz contest with public figures Adipati Dolken and Ummi Quary on the SATU Indonesia YouTube Channel.

Astra’s consistency in supporting the nation’s progress for today and the future of Indonesia is in line with Astra’s mission to prosper with the nation while supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
