Astra Participates in Tree Planting for Green Open Spaces in DKI Jakarta

Jakarta: As a manifestation of Astra’s commitment to supporting the policies and initiatives of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to reduce the impact of extreme weather conditions, Astra has participated in the regular tree-planting activities held in the province’s Green Open Spaces (RTH). Today (Wednesday, 10/26), a symbolic tree-planting ceremony took place at the Nagrak Apartment in North Jakarta, attended by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono, and Astra Head of Security, Muslich.

“Thank you to Astra for their contribution to the tree planting at the Nagrak Apartment. I hope the monthly tree-planting initiative can continue to be carried out,” said Heru Budi Hartono, the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta.

“Astra is fully supportive of the government’s efforts to improve RTH across Jakarta to reduce the impact of extreme weather conditions in the area. We hope the green spaces could be enjoyed by the entire community in the future,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah.

Previously, tree planting had been carried out in two locations: Pulo Gadung Industrial Estate Urban Forest in East Jakarta and Casamora Nursery in South Jakarta. A variety of trees including blackboard trees, crepe myrtle, flamboyant trees, sawo kecik, and Spathodea trees were planted. To date, Astra has donated a total of 500 trees and will continue the tree- planting initiative together with the Environment Ministry and the Jakarta Government.

In addition to this initiative, Astra has also facilitated free emission testing for its customers’ vehicles at several dealer workshops across Jakarta from September 4 to December 31, 2023. This service is available at 45 Astra dealer workshops that are integrated with the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH).

Astra’s contributions to reducing the impact of extreme weather in DKI Jakarta, in collaboration with the provincial government for Indonesia’s present and future, are in line with Astra’s mission to prosper with the nation and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
