SINGAPORE: Astra participated in the Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) International Expo 2024 in Singapore today, April 23. This participation involved 18 Desa Sejahtera Astra across Java and Sumatra and is a part of the implementation of the Desa Sejahtera Astra program that focuses on empowering entrepreneurship at the village level, in line with the potential and superior products each village possesses.
Desa Sejahtera Astra participating in this event introduced nine categories of superior products that are highly valued internationally. These include Arabica Coffee, Robusta Coffee, Porang Rice, Spices, Cashew Nuts, Dried Fruits, Cowpeas, Potato Chips, and Vanilla. The participation throughout the Expo (April 23–26, 2024) is expected to open opportunities for the Desa Sejahtera Astra to establish collaborations, increase sales, and enhance the export value of their respective regional superior products. This is particularly significant considering that more than 60,000 visitors are expected to attend this largest food and beverage expo in the Asia Pacific.
“Through the Desa Sejahtera Astra program, Astra hopes the superior products of the Desa Sejahtera Astra can become Indonesia’s pride. These products contribute to increasing national export value and stimulate national economic recovery and growth,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah.
Present at the opening of the Indonesian Pavilion at the FHA International Expo 2024 were Suryo Pratomo, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, Anastuty Kusumowardani, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia Singapore, Billy Anugrah, Trade Attaché of the Republic of Indonesia for Singapore, and representatives from Astra.
As of 2024, Astra has developed 1,196 Desa Sejahtera Astra across Indonesia, of which 323 villages contributed an accumulated export value of Rp223 billion. These villages’ export activities are expected to boost the economy based on superior village products, focusing on the entrepreneurship pillar of Astra’s social contribution.
Astra consistently supports the improvement of village community welfare throughout Indonesia through the Desa Sejahtera Astra program, which is in line with Astra’s mission to prosper with the nation and supports Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
