JAKARTA: Astra continues to foster a work environment that supports diversity and inclusivity, ensuring that female employees can thrive and maximize their potential. In alignment with this commitment, Astra officially launched the “Perempuan Astra” community today, June 4, at the Astra Women Community event, themed “Beyond Diversity: Performing and Transforming Diversity Towards Sustainability”. The event was held at Catur Dharma Hall, Menara Astra, Jakarta.

The Perempuan Astra community serves as a platform for the development and empowerment of female leadership within the organization. It aims to increase the number of women in leadership positions at Astra through various initiatives designed to enhance career growth, expand professional networks, and promote overall employee well-being. Additionally, the community focuses on cultivating an inclusive workplace culture that encourages work-life balance while preventing discrimination and harassment.

The event was attended by Indonesian Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Veronica Tan, Astra Director Gita Tiffani Boer, and executives from Astra and Astra Group.

“We extend our highest appreciation to Astra for its efforts in advancing and empowering female leadership. This initiative is truly encouraging, as it demonstrates Astra’s commitment to fostering a workplace that supports and values the potential of women,” said Deputy Minister Veronica Tan.

“The establishment of the Perempuan Astra community is expected to contribute to the career development and leadership growth of Astra’s female employees while increasing the representation of women in C-level roles. Numerous studies and evidence have demonstrated the invaluable roles and contributions of female leaders in organizations, not only by enriching perspectives in decision-making but also by enhancing collaboration, improving performance, and strengthening organizational sustainability,” stated Astra Director Gita Tiffani Boer.

The event also featured engaging discussions and dialogues with female speakers, including former Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister (2014–2024) Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi and XL Smart Director & Chief Information Officer Yessie D. Yosetya, who shared insights on leadership with attendees.

Astra’s dedication to promoting diversity and inclusivity through the Perempuan Astra community, both for today and the future of Indonesia, is in line with its mission to prosper with the nation while supporting Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
