JAKARTA: The passion and energy of Indonesia’s youth for change echoed through Balai Kartini, Jakarta, on Saturday (July 19). To promote and encourage young changemakers to participate in the Semangat Astra Terpadu Untuk (SATU) Indonesia Awards program, Astra took part in the Young On Top National Conference (YOTNC) 2025 Special Session, themed “Uniting Efforts, Creating Impact”. This session featured the 16th SATU Indonesia Awards 2025 Inspirational Talk, titled “Purpose in Action: Making Change Where It Matters”.

The talk highlighted the importance of creating change through real, tangible actions, particularly in education. Inspiring speakers included Ariel Tatum (Actress and Board of Advisors member of Menjadi Manusia), Bhrisco Jordy (2022 SATU Indonesia Awards Recipient in Education), and Yudha Prasetya (Astra Head of Brand Communications).

“Astra is committed to empowering the active role of youth in creating meaningful change for society. Through SATU Indonesia Awards, we aim to recognize and provide a platform for young people who have made real contributions in various fields to grow. We believe that every small step taken today by our youth can lead to a big impact on Indonesia’s sustainable future,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto.

More than a thousand attendees joined the session, which featured inspirational stories from speakers who shared their experiences and insights on educational issues—and how simple acts, done with sincerity and courage, can spark change.

“I believe that big change begins with the bravery to first understand and heal ourselves. Only when we are more self-aware, honest with ourselves, and truly understand who we are can our impact be genuinely heartfelt,” said Ariel Tatum.

“From a simple concern, I founded the Papua Future Project. We noticed many children in Papua couldn’t read, even though they were already attending school. So, we started small—with limited learning tools and volunteer support. But through continued collaboration and learning, we believe this movement will keep growing,” shared Bhrisco Jordy.

Astra also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting equitable education across Indonesia through providing quality and sustainable education in underdeveloped areas and strategic regions. This initiative aligns with one of Astra’s pillars of sustainable social contribution “Astra Untuk Indonesia Cerdas” (Astra for a Smart Indonesia), whose programs focus on improving school quality (through teacher training, curriculum development, and life skills education), providing scholarships, and donating educational facilities and infrastructure—especially to schools near Astra Group’s operations and in underprivileged areas.

The inspirational talk aims to spark more youth-led initiatives that bring tangible benefits to communities.

As the registration period for the 16th SATU Indonesia Awards 2025 draws to a close, Astra invites inspiring young Indonesians who have made a positive impact in the fields of Health, Education, Environment, Entrepreneurship, and Technology across Indonesia to participate in the program.

Each winner will receive an activity grant of Rp65 million, program development support, and opportunities to collaborate in Kampung Berseri Astra and Desa Sejahtera Astra programs.
