SORONG, SOUTHWEST PAPUA: Sorong has been selected as the first stop for the 16th SATU Indonesia Awards 2025 roadshow, organized by Astra to search for young Indonesians who have contributed to building a sustainable future through initiatives in Health, Education, Environment, Entrepreneurship, and Technology.
“Developing Indonesia from the eastern regions, such as Sorong, requires multistakeholder collaboration. Therefore, we fully support this activity as a form of synergy between the private sector and the government to shape a generation that is outstanding, competitive, and of strong character. Sorong is home to many promising young individuals who are already making — and will continue to make — a positive impact in their communities,” said Sorong Mayor Septinus Loba, S.H., MPA.
The roadshow event, held on Monday morning (April 14) in Sorong City, featured an inspiring talk show themed “Uniting Efforts, Creating Impact”. The session brought together esteemed speakers including SATU Indonesia Awards Jury Member and Special Staff to the Minister of Communication and Digital of the Republic of Indonesia, Raline Shah; Astra’s Head of Corporate Communications, Boy Kelana Soebroto; and 2015 SATU Indonesia Awards recipient from Papua, Risna Hasanuddin. Each speaker shared compelling stories and experiences that inspired participants to take an active role in building a better Indonesia.
“Astra, through the SATU Indonesia Awards, is committed to supporting and recognizing young changemakers who create a positive impact in their communities. Let us work together towards achieving more inclusive and prosperous sustainable development for today and the future of Indonesia,” said Astra Chief of Corporate Affairs Riza Deliansyah.
In its effort to discover inspiring young Indonesians, Astra collaborates with Tempo, Antara, Kumparan, IDN Times, and Young on Top. In 2024, the program received 16,775 applicants — an increase of 11.8% compared to 2023.
Each award recipient will receive a Rp65 million activity grant, program development support, and opportunities to collaborate in Kampung Berseri Astra or Desa Sejahtera Astra programs.
