The management and advisors of the Astra Dharma Bhakti Foundation (YDBA) had the opportunity to directly observe the progress of farmer development in Puncak Dua, Bogor, West Java, on March 4, 2024.
During this visit, the farmers shared several advancements from the training sessions, including eco-friendly cultivation using self-produced organic fertilizers and pesticides. They also implemented post-harvest standardization, from grading to packaging.
YDBA, in collaboration with the Government Investment Center (PIP), has been developing agricultural SMEs in Puncak Dua by establishing the Sukawangi Majeng Sareng Business Development Institution (LPB). This institution aims to enhance farmers' knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly horticultural cultivation.
Since its inauguration on December 15, 2022, LPB has conducted over 20 training programs, such as workshops, mentoring, and marketing and financing facilitation, for 33 horticultural farmers. In 2024, the program focuses on preparing for organic certification.
"The training programs conducted by YDBA and PIP aim to support the advancement of agriculture in Indonesia and to help farmers in Puncak Dua to grow and become self-reliant," said YDBA Management Secretary Ema Poedjiwati Prasetio.
