Alongside the award for the New Veloz Hybrid EV, Toyota also received recognition from the WOW Brand Award 2026 in the Car Brand category, organized by MarkPlus, Inc, on Thursday, April 16.
Toyota has shown customers their evolving needs can be met through a diverse range of models, supported by a trusted mobility ecosystem that keeps improving. In line with its Multi Pathway Strategy, Toyota's complete lineup of electrified vehicles gives customers flexibility to help protect the environment.
"Thank you for the Best Electrified New Comers award given to the New Veloz Hybrid EV at the Uzone Choice Awards 2026. In line with our Multi Pathway Strategy, this Hybrid EV is the third locally produced model, following the Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid EV and the Yaris Cross Hybrid EV, making it highly competitive. As a newcomer, this Hybrid MPV has been warmly received by the public, backed by Toyota's Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR) and engine efficiency of up to 40%, which makes it appealing. Our thanks also go to MarkPlus for the WOW Brand Award 2026 in the Car Brand category, which affirms Toyota as the most popular car brand in Indonesia," explained Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) Bansar Maduma.
With more than 3,000 respondents, the WOW Brand Award 2026 is based on a survey of 300 brands across 100 product categories, conducted from December 2025 to January 2026. The highest achievement for any brand is to be chosen and supported by consumers for the peace of mind it delivers.
With over 50 years of experience meeting the unique and diverse needs of Indonesians, Toyota consistently stays top of mind for customers thanks to its guarantee of product and service quality.
Drawing on a track record of developing hybrid technology in Indonesia since 2009, the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) is key to its fuel efficiency. The system manages the gasoline engine, electric motor, battery, and other electrification components simultaneously and seamlessly. The Energy Regenerative Brake System and EV Mode features let drivers further reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
Holding an international patent, the Series Parallel Hybrid System is equipped with a Power Split Device (PSD) that uses a dedicated gearbox to split power from the gasoline engine, electric motor, and electric generator.
Using planetary gears instead of a steel belt in the eCVT transmission ensures optimal, seamless power distribution. Without clutch plates that wear out or a fluid-filled torque converter, the PSD relies on tough gears, delivering power more responsibly with lower mechanical losses.
The 2NR-VEX hybrid engine produces 91 PS at 5,500 rpm and 121 Nm of torque at 4,000 to 4,800 rpm. The electric motor, meanwhile, delivers 80 PS and 141 Nm of torque, for a combined output of 111 PS. Toyota also tuned the hybrid engine's character so it can carry a full load as a family MPV and tackle a wide variety of roads, even to remote areas.
The result is fuel consumption of 28.9 km per liter for this 7-seater, based on testing by an automotive media outlet. The New Veloz Hybrid EV Lintas Nusa expedition covered more than 7,700 km over 47 nonstop days from the Mandalika Circuit in NTT to the finish in Medan, North Sumatra, proving its QDR excellence.
This Hybrid MPV also offers strong value for money. Customers can choose from four New Veloz Hybrid EV types to match their needs and lifestyle.
The Q Modellista TSS is the flagship model, loaded with features such as the Modellista body kit, integration with the mTOYOTA app via the T-Intouch feature, and Toyota Safety Sense (TSS). Rear Seat Entertainment and a Tire Inflator are also standard. Every Veloz HEV type can be taken home for a price in the IDR 300 million range.
Customers can feel confident in battery performance and durability, as it has undergone testing to ensure safety in Indonesia's often extreme weather conditions. The New Veloz Hybrid EV battery warranty of up to 8 years or 160,000 km underscores the quality of its Hybrid battery and Toyota's commitment to peace of mind.
Toyota also offers the T-CARE program, which includes free labor and parts up to the 7th periodic service (a maximum of 3 years or 60,000 km). This comes with an Extended Warranty of 1 year or 20,000 km, provided the customer maintains regular servicing at an official Toyota workshop.

"We would like to thank the people of Indonesia for their trust in Veloz since it first arrived in 2011, and now it has transformed into the first Toyota product fully dedicated as a Hybrid EV across all types. In line with our Total Mobility Solution vision, the appreciation from customers and the media strengthens our resolve to bring even more Hybrid EVs to a wider audience in the future. Of course, with more economical ownership costs and high resale value as a way of rewarding customer loyalty," said Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) Hiroyuki Oide.
