Gede Andika, Bali’s Language and Environmental Education Initiator

In March 2020, Gede Andika initiated KREDIBALI, an environmental awareness and language education program that gives free english lessons for elementary school to junior high school children in Pemuteran Village in Buleleng, North Bali.

The first class was held in May 2020, when Gede had the idea to provide free English classes to students who were forced to stay at home because of COVID-19 restrictions. To participate, the students only had to do one thing: to bring plastic waste collected from their household in exchange for taking the English classes.
