PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) is committed to supporting the government's program to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by implementing modern and environmentally friendly production processes.
This commitment is realized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding to increase the installation of rooftop solar power plants, or solar panels, at the Daihatsu factory in Karawang, with a capacity of 8.2 megawatts (MW) on July 29, 2024.
The memorandum was signed as a result of collaboration between ADM and PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN) by ADM President Director Yasushi Kyoda, accompanied by ADM Vice President Director Erlan Krisnaring and EPN President Director Iwan Hadiantoro, alongside EPN Director Achmad Rizal.
This memorandum marks the continuation of the solar panel installation that began in 2019 at the Cibitung Parts Center facility, followed by the Karawang factory, which is ongoing. As a result, the Daihatsu assembly plant will have a total capacity of 12.5 MW and can reduce emissions by more than 17,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
“We continue to strive to create an environmentally friendly assembly plant by utilizing cleaner and more sustainable energy. We hope this effort can positively contribute to preserving the environment for a better future generation,” said Erlan Krisnaring.
