PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) operates waste water recycling technology at its Deltamas factory, Cikarang, West Java, on March 22 2024, to coincide with World Water Day.

The operation of this wastewater recycling technology is part of the company's efforts to implement an air management program. The clean water produced can be reused for the company's production activities and can be discharged into waste disposal installations without polluting the environment.

The wastewater recycling technology, using the Zero Water Discharge concept, is capable of producing 72.000 cubic meters of clean air annually and meets the clean water quality standards set by the Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. This technology transforms domestic and industrial liquid waste into clean water through various stages, including sedimentation, aerobic treatment, and filtration.

"Through the spirit of Synergy for the Nation, we are implementing various clean water management programs within the company to realize the Sustainable Development Goals. The application of water recycling certainly supports the company's productive and high-quality operational activities," said AHM's GM of General Affairs Merry Heryana.

In addition to wastewater recycling, AHM also strives to save water usage in accordance with the Green Building Standard, by implementing specific water flow rates in public facilities, and using technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) in monitoring and inspecting the company's water installation facilities.
