More than 16 Million People Reached by Indonesia Ayo Aman Berlalu Lintas Program

JAKARTA: As a real implementation of corporate social responsibility (CSR), PT Astra International Tbk is actively engaged in socializing Let’s Practice Road Safety (Indonesia, Ayo Aman Berlalu Lintas in Indonesian or shortened to IAABL) which is held today (19/11).

Astra Road Safety Fest is the final event carried out in 9 big cities in Indonesia, namely Bandung, Semarang, Bali, Yogyakarta, Balikpapan, Surabaya, Medan, Palembang and Jakarta.

Head of Indonesia’s Traffic Police Corps (shortened Korlantas in Indonesian) Irjen. Pol. Condro Kirono, Chief of Corporate Communication, Social Responsibility & Security PT Astra International Tbk Pongki Pamungkas, Astra Group’s Board of Directors and Executives of automotive business unit and financial services related to automotive, university students, 4-wheel & 2-wheel communities attended the event.

Head of Indonesia’s Traffic Police Corps Irjen. Pol. Condro Kirono said, “Indonesia’s Traffic Police and Astra are actively work together to reduce the number of traffic accident and educate road users. The real number shows accident rate during mudik (hometown visit during Eid al-Fitr) 2015 decreases as 21,5% compared to previous year,”

In the event, Astra gave appreciation to Astra Road safety Video Competition. Astra Road Safety Video Competition is a creative video competition that took up the theme Building Concern of Every Society Member to Practice Road Safety (both as drivers, riders and pedestrians)

Astra Road Safety Video Competition has successfully collected 64 videos from 34 universities in 19 cities across Indonesia and watched by over 32 thousands times as well as generated more than 4,000 likes.

The following are the winners of Astra Road Safety Video Competition:

1^st Winner : RedRoad from Mercubuana University

2^nd Winner : Being Happy from Politeknik Perkapalan Negeri Surabaya

3^rd Winner : PINERA from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember

Favorite Winner : YOUniverse from Bina Nusantara University

The winners of Astra Road Safety Video Competition received the price of:

1^st Winner :Rp 10 million; 2^nd Winner: Rp 7 million; 3^rd Winner: Rp 5 million; and Favorite Winner: Rp 3 million.

Besides Astra Road Safety Video Competition, Astra also presented awards to most contributing communities to IAABL program through Astra Road Safety Community Challenge.

The winners of Astra Road Safety Community Challenge is listed below:

1^st Winner: Daihatsu Ayla Indonesia (DAI)

2^nd Winner: Daihatsu Taruna Club (DTC)

3^rd Winner: Avanza Xenia Indonesia Club (AXIC)

4^th Winner: Komunitas Bahasa Isyarat Luar Biasa Universitas Negeri Malang

5^th Winner: PT United Tractors Tbk Owner’s Motor Community (UT OMC)

For Astra Road Safety Community Challenge, Astra handed out prizes of Rp 15 million plus implementation fund of Rp 3 million for the 1^st Winner; 2^nd winner: Rp 10 million plus implementation fund of Rp 3 million; 3^rd Winner: Rp 7 million plus implementation fund of Rp 3 million; 4^th Winner: Rp 5 million; and 5^th Winner: Rp 3 million.

IAABL is a program initiated by Astra to invite society to participate in reducing traffic accident rate by practicing road safety.

Up to November 2015, more than 16 million people have been educated, participating and figured out the road safety across Indonesia.

Principally, in any installation, Astra has to bring benefits to its surrounding, in accordance to the first philosophy of Catur Dharma, To Be an Asset to the Nation.
